Internal Attribution
When we attibute the cause of behaviour as being caused by something personal within the individual.
External Attribution
When we attribute the cause of behaviour as a result of an situational factors that occur outside of the individual
Self Serving Bias
Our tendency to credit positive outcomes as caused by our own internal factors and credit negative outcomes as caused by external situational factors.
Actor Observer Bias
our tendency to attribute our own behaviours to external or situational factors, and attribute others behaviour to internal factors.
Attitude
an evaluation of something such as a person, object, event or idea which can be positive, neutral or negative
Stigma
A mark of disgrace or negative attitude with a circumstance, quality or person. Usually based on charactersitics such as; race, gender, sexuality or religion.
Discrimination
The unjust treatment against people due to their membership with a certain social category.
Prejudice
A predjudgement made about someone before you interact with them. Which happens when stereotypes become beliefs.
Affect Heuristic
A cognitive bias where people make descions based on their emotions to asess the quality of a situation.
Person Perception
The mental process used to form judgements and form conclusions about the characteristics, motives and intentions of others.
