A scandal which officials in Reagan administration sold arms to Iran to help gain release of the US hostages and sent money from arms sales to contras in Nocaragua.

Nuclear freeze movement

Movement in the US and western europe calling for a moratorium, or “freeze”, on production, testing, or deploying of nuclear weapons by super powers.

Persian Gulf War

1991, international conflict which UN forces, led by US attacked Iraq over course of 2 months and successfully forced troops out of neighboring kuqait, which Iraq invaded in 1990.

9/11

Attack launched against US on sept 11, 2001. Planes flown by terrorists, destroyed world trade center and pentagon. One plane crashed in field pf pennsylvania, killing more than 3000 people.

AI Qaeda

International terrorist network until 2011, by Osama bin laden. coordinated attacks on world trade center and pentagon.

Uniting and strengthening America by providing appropriate tools required to intercept and obstruct terrorism.

Islamic state in Iraq and Syria (ISIS)

Terrorist organization that commits act of violence, destroys cultural artifacts and encourages loss of life in order to achieve its goal of global rule under strict Islamic Sharia law.
