What is atmosphere
It has all of the air surrounding the earth
what is biosphere
It has all living things on earth
what is geosphere
It has all of the land and rocks on earth
what is hydropshere
It has all of the water on earth
What are the products of Photosynthesis?
C6H12O6 and 6 O2
What are the reactants required for Photosynthesis?
6 CO2 + 6 H2O + sunlight
Photosynthesis does not occur in the dark. Why is light energy required for photosynthesis?
Light starts the chain reaction of photosynthesis
What types of living things undergo Photosynthesis?
All green plants
What are the products of Cellular Respiration?
ATP, CO2, and H2O.
Why do all living things need the process of cellular respiration? What does it accomplish?
They need cellular respiration because it turns oxygen and chemical energy into ATP, which is energy.
How does carbon move in and out of the atmosphere
Into- Fossil fuel combustion, volcanic eruptions, Respiration, decomposition, etc
Out of- Photosynthesis. Oceanic absorption, etc
How does carbon move in and out of the biosphere
Into- Photosynthesis
Out of- Cellular respiration and decomposition
How does carbon move in and out of the geosphere
Into- decomposition, creation of fossil fuels, etc
Out of- volcanoes, weathering, getting fossil fuels to use, etc
How does carbon move in and out of the hydrosphere
Into- absorption
Out of- Respiration of sea animals, shells absorbing it, etc
How have humans affected the Earth’s carbon cycle?
We use fossil fuels, which emits a lot of carbon dioxide.
Where is most of the Earth’s carbon stored?
Whole earth- mantle
Surface- ocean
