  • 1929 - Britain entered economic depression the Wall Street Crash & unemployment soared

  • 1931 - A national government was formed in 1931 with a coalition of Labour, Liberal & Conservatives MPs

  • 1930s - Public was very pacifist after the memories of WW1

  • Politicians needed to appeal to masses using radio & cinema

  • 1904 - Joined Liberals from Conservatives

  • 1915 - Gallipoli campaign where Churchill planned a failed attack that killed 250k allies

  • 1924 - Rejoined conservatives
