1963-69 POL: signed civil rights act 1964, executive order 11246= banned sexual discrimination by federal contracts. ECO: enforced equal pay act with Great society policies= more education opportunities for women, enforced equal pay act 1963.

1969-74 POL: signed Title IX 1972- banning sex discrimination in education, supported ERA. SOC: vetoed Child development act 1971.

1977-81 POL: supported ERA, even though not ratified, appointed a record No of women to federal roles.

1961-63 POL: Presidents commission on the status of women 1961= highlighted discrimination in unemployment ECO: equal pay act 1963 SOC: however= commission for special training in motherhood, due to religion was against abortion.
