What are themes not about?

Themes are not ideas about a story's elements. Like, for instance, if a story is about a doctor who kills his wife, you're not gonna say the story's theme is "Dr. Ramirez kills his wife in a drunken fit of rage". Instead, you are going to state what idea the story communicates THROUGH a story's elements.
