If someone is having a stroke you should immediately call 911 lay the person down give them reassurance control any external bleeding monitor breathing do not give any food or liquids as this could make them nauseous.

What to do with a life-threatening bleeding wound.

First of all call 911 then you're going to grab a dressing you want to apply firm and direct pressure on the wound if bleeding soaks through the first dressing . You're going to apply a second one but do not remove the first one as this could disrupt a clot forming. If the bleeding has stopped before EMS arrived you're going to wrap it up in a bandage you want to make sure that you do it at an angle you want to make sure it's firm but not too tight and keep applying direct pressure.

This is because most medications like aspirin and Tylenol are blood thinners which could essentially make the bleeding worse.

For children over the age of eight and adults if the bleeding is more than half a soda can that would be considered life-threatening but for infants even less than that you also want to pay attention to the flow of the bleeding.

Steps to CPR for adults

Check the scene for safety either call or have a bystander call 911 tap the person on the shoulder and check their breathing for a few seconds if it's irregular or no breathing at all start CPR give 30 chest compressions with two breaths in between making sure that your arms are locked on the chest making sure to open their airway by tilting their head and continue the cycle until hope comes or if there's a bystander for you guys should alternate.

Step number one turn on the AED following the voice prompts and if needed remove any clothing on the chest and wipe it dry too apply the AED pads for adults place one pad on the upper right side of the chest just below the color bone place and another pad on the lower left side of the chest if you inches below the left armpit

Step 2 and step are plug the pad connector cable into the AED if necessary step 3 clear for an analysis loudly say clear ensure that nobody is touching the person during analyzation push the analyzation button if necessary.

Why is it important that nobody is touching the AED during analyzation?

This is because the machines job is to analyze the person's heart rhythm if somebody else is touching the person it could end up analyzing their heart rhythm instead of the person that actually needs to be analyzed.
