An appeal to logic or reason that attempts to appeal to the intellect. Appeals to the left side of the brain using patterns

Repetition of a word or phrase

Repetition of sounds or starting letters in words.

Allegory

A narrative with an obvious and deeper meaning.

Climax

High point of a story.

2 lines of verses that go together

Word choice.

Simile

Compares 2 things with "like" or "as" (or other connecting words).

A paragraph of a poem.

Metaphor

Compares or relates 2 things without using "like" or "as".
