Ultimate Frisbee
A non-contact team sport played with a flying disc.
Scoring in Ultimate Frisbee
Points are scored when a player catches the disc in the opponent's end zone.
Backhand throw
A basic throwing technique in Ultimate Frisbee where the disc is gripped by the rim and thumb and snapped out of the hand.
Flick throw
A basic throwing technique in Ultimate Frisbee where the disc is gripped by the rim and index finger and snapped out of the hand.
Lay-up
A close-range shot in basketball, usually performed by jumping up and using one hand to guide the ball into the hoop.
Point guard
A position in basketball, often the team's best ball handler and playmaker.
Jump ball
A method of putting the ball into play in basketball, where two players jump up and try to tap the ball to a teammate.
Shuttlecock
The projectile hit back and forth in the sport of badminton.
Forehand clear
A basic shot in badminton, used to clear the shuttlecock to the opponent's court.
Backhand clear
A basic shot in badminton, used to clear the shuttlecock to the opponent's court.
Nitroball
A variation of volleyball played with a lower-bouncing ball.
Three touches
In Nitroball, each team is allowed to touch the ball up to three times before it must be returned to the opponent's court.
Overhand serve
A basic serving technique in Nitroball, where the ball is thrown overhand to the opponent's court.
Squat
A compound exercise where you lower your body by bending your knees, then stand up.
Deadlift
A compound exercise where you lift a weight or barbell from the floor to hip level.
Push-up
A bodyweight exercise where you lower your body until your chest nearly touches the ground, then push back up to the starting position.
Pull-up
A bodyweight exercise where you hang from a bar and pull yourself up until your chin clears the bar.
Plank
A bodyweight exercise where you hold a position supporting your body on your forearms and toes.
Medicine ball
A weighted ball used for strength and conditioning exercises.
Barbell
A long bar with weights on each end, used for strength training exercises.
