How do camelids have to be identified?
Using ear tags or microchips if you want to:
Move them out of a bluetongue area
Vaccinate them against bluetongue 3

What is a CPH number, and when/why is it needed?
County Parish Holding number
You must have a CPH when you have 1 or more: cattle, pigs, sheep, poultry, goats or deer
If you are keeping camelids for breeding, moving them frequently, or live in a TB-restricted area, securing a CPH number is necessary for compliance with APHA regulations
What is meant by the term ‘holding’?
Refers to the specific parcel of land and buildings used to keep livestock

Ensure full traceability- which allows authorities to quickly prevent and contain highly contagious animal disease
e.g 2001 foot and mouth epidemic: government then introduced a 6DSS to halt the spread of disease
