Anti-G System
Supplies air pressure for inflating the aircrew’s Anti-G Suit
Worn to counteract the effect of gravity “G” forces on the aircrew
Relieves stiffness and physical tension
Effects of '“G”
Excessive fatigue
Decreased Alertness
Blackout
Unconsciousness
Death
Anti-G System Description
Contains a Pressure Regulator, which automatically regulates air to the Anti-G Suit
Suit Inflation
Positive vertical force of 1.75 “G”, the activating weight begins to move down against the main spring
Downward movement of the valve piston closes the opening between the outlet port and the suit vent port, connects the inlet port to the outlet port, directing pneumatic pressure into the suit
Constant “G” Condition
The demand valve closes under pressure of the heavier lower spring, while the exhaust valve remains closed by the activating weight
Suit Exhaust and Static Condition
As the positive forces decrease toward 1.75 “G”s, the piston will raise, dumping pressure from the suit through the suit exhaust into the cockpit
Maximum pressure of the Anti-G Suit is ___ psi
