The Beatitudes

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven

those who rely on God, already heaven bound because they recognize his presence

Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted

those who are pained by sin, desire communion with God above all

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the land

those who know their greatness, and use their strength for the sake of others

Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied

those who are desperate for justice, but trust in God knowing he will bring order

Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy

those who love, even when others do not deserve it

Blessed are the clean in heart, for they will see God

those who are detached from this world, and have the capacity to see Him clearly

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God

those who are well-ordered, that peace overflows, they know that some will be resistant to peace

Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven

have hope in the Communion of Saints and know that you are not overlooked in suffering
