What are the pros and cons of this scheme

Pros:

• new beaches have more visitors and business thrives

• stabilises cliffs that could cause landslides

• harbour is better protected which benefits the fishing industry

Cons:

• increased visitors cause congestion and more litter

• the defences can impact natural beauty

• seawall could interfere with coastal processes
