Getting an accurate mass
Weigh using a weighing boat
Add mass to a beaker
Re weigh the weighing boat
Find difference by original mass of weighing boat and mass minus the weighing boat.
Now you have an exact mass added to the beaker
Beaker
Add distilled water to dissolve the solid
Stir with a glass rod
Add water until all solid have dissolved
Volumetric flask
Transfer the solution from the beaker to a volumetric flask using a funnel
Rinse the beaker with distilled water, glass rod and the funnel and add to the volumetric flask
Top up the flask to 250cm3
And INVERT
Decreasing percentage uncertainty
(Titre)
Increase the titre by diluting the titre
Large volume means smaller uncertainty
Use of volumetric pippette and burette
Uncertainty is very low relative to a measuring cylinder
Decreases percentage uncertainty
