Network Map
A diagram that shows the devices and connections within a network.
Physical Network Map
A network diagram that shows the actual physical layout of devices, cables, and equipment.
Logical Network Map
A diagram that shows how devices communicate and connect on a network, regardless of their physical locations.
Rack Diagram
A diagram that shows the physical arrangement of equipment inside a server rack or cabinet.
Cable Map
A diagram that shows how network cables are connected between devices, ports, and locations.
Layer 1 Diagram
A network diagram that shows the physical components and connections of a network at OSI Layer 1 (Physical Layer).
Layer 2 Diagram
A network diagram that shows Data Link Layer (OSI Layer 2) information, such as switches, MAC addresses, VLANs, and switching paths.
Layer 3 Diagram
A network diagram that shows Network Layer (OSI Layer 3) information, including IP addresses, subnets, routers, and routing paths.
Asset Management
The process of tracking, organizing, and maintaining an organization’s hardware and other IT assets throughout their lifecycle.
Asset Tag
A unique label attached to a piece of equipment to identify and track it.
Asset Database
A centralized system used to store and manage information about an organization’s assets.
Depreciation
The reduction in an asset’s value over time due to age, wear, or obsolescence.
Warranty Tracking
The process of monitoring warranty information for equipment to know when coverage begins, expires, and what repairs or replacements are covered.
IP Address Management (IPAM)
A system used to plan, track, and manage IP addresses across a network.
DHCP Scope
The range of IP addresses that a DHCP server is allowed to assign to devices.
Service Level Agreement (SLA)
A contract that defines expected service availability and performance between a provider and customer.
Service Availability
The amount of time a service is expected to remain operational.
Wireless Site Survey
An assessment of a location to determine the best placement and configuration of wireless access points.
Heat Map
A visual representation of wireless signal strength across a physical location, it is a color coded diagram. Green = Strong Signal, Yellow = Moderate Signal, and Red = Weak signal or poor coverage.
Frequency Planning
The process of selecting and organizing wireless frequencies and channels to minimize interference and mazimize performance.
Wireless Coverage Map
A diagram that shows where a wireless network signal is available within a specific area.
