Area references (AR)
Four digit numbers for a whole square.
Grid references (GR)
Six digit numbers for exact points.
Eastings
Lines that go up and down that show how far east somethings is.
Northings
Lines that go left to right that show how far north a place is.
When finding the AR of a point that’s not on the intersection:
Look at the bottom left hand corner.
When the AR is across two boxes
