What does it mean to interpret a text?
To interpret is to decide your own thoughts and feelings about something; it allows for multiple interpretations of the same part of a text.
What is characterisation?
Characterisation is everything a writer does to help the reader understand a character and to present the character in a certain way.
What are nuances in characterisation?
Nuances are small, subtle differences; a nuanced character exhibits actions, feelings, or thoughts that may differ from reader expectations.
What is a flaw in characterisation?
A flaw is a weakness or negative characteristic; a flawed character is one who is not entirely good or possesses negative traits.
What is an internal/interior monologue?
An internal or interior monologue is when a writer includes a character's thoughts in the text.
What is pathetic fallacy?
Pathetic fallacy is when a writer gives human emotions to nature or parts of the setting.
What is a flashback in literature?
A flashback is a sudden shift backwards in time within the story.
