Task 1.1 Collect species from the coral garden

Flume tank

collect two basket stars and two coral species and bring them to the surface

Task 1.2 Coral garden ridge modelling

Flume tank

measure length of coral garden and create 3D model

scale the 3D model based on the length received from judge

use the scaled model to estimate the height and display on model

CAD version - measure height and length

Task 1.3 Fly a transect over the coral garden

flume tank

maintain position over coral garden for 30 secs

Task 2.1 Mitigate invasive species

count number of european green crabs (crab in image)

ai crab detection

or manual counting

report answer on form

Task 2.2 Iceberg tracking

survey iceberg at 5 locations and measure keel (“part under the water”) depth

use form from judge to determine threat level of four platforms

threat level: passing > 10 away: green, passing >5 <10: yellow, and <5: red

if keep depth is >110% than depth of water where platform is: green

1 minute of latitude is 1 nautical mile

for subsea assets: within 25 of platform:

green if depth is > 110% than the depth of water at platform, 90%-110% red, 70%-90% yellow, <70% green

Task 2.3 testing whale safe fishing gear

turn handle from lobster pot to release buoy

return lobster pot to surface

Task 2.4 Recover the buoy anchor

attach recovery line to buoy anchor (U-bolt on it)

line spools out as ROV surfaces

return other end of line to props person

Service the Holyrood subsea observatory

recover edna sensor

recover the old sensor

judge will provide data

find percentage frequency of the 10 speices

return a new edna sensor (going to be on the side of the pool) to same spot as old one

connect new sensor to Holyrood subsea observatory

remove biofueling from camera: spin it 3 times and then spin to have correct color appearing (judge will tell us the color)

Task 3.1 Micropile installation

place bubble curtain device that is orginally on the surface around designated location

micropile will be lowered from surface by props person guided by pilot

pull pin to release micropile

pick pin up

Task 3.2 Powering an oil platform from a wind turbine

connect oil platform to power from offshore wind farm

get power connector from wind farm platform

lay power connecter cable through a way point attached to micropile

remove the cover from the oil platform port - cover is debris

install power connector into connection port (velco)
