Body planes
are invisible flat surfaces (dividing lines) that separate organs, structures, or the human body into sections
Section/ plane
A plane is an imaginary line, while a section is the portion or slice of the body formed by the cutting of the plane
sagittal plane
divides body into left and right
Midsagittal
the plane dividing the body into equal right and left halves
Parasagittal
Divides body into unequal right and left sides
Para
means "next to, beside, or alongside.
Transverse Plane
Divides body into upper and lower parts-horizontal
Frontal (coronal)
front and back (anterior and posterior)
