What was the Exeter Conspiracy?

There was allegedly a plot to overthrow H8 and replace him with the Yorkist Henry Courtenay, Earl of Devon. Courtenay was accused of working with Pole, the French and the Spanish to carry out this rebellion.

Cromwell may’ve grossly exaggerated Courtenay’s disloyalty to rid Henry of any potential dynastic threats/those who were suspected of supporting Cath of A and having foreign ties abroad
