What is the great compromise
The Great compromise is when congress got divided into 2 parts the senate and House of Representatives. The senate has 2 senators per state doesn’t matter the size of the state this takes care of the small states and ties to the new jersey plan. The House of Representatives has their number of representatives based on the population.. more populated states have more represent this takes care of the big states and ties to the Virginia plan
What were anti-federalists
They oppose the constitution favor of government that protected the rights and powers of the individual states. Thought the constitution gave too much power to the president wanted a bill of rights added to protect the people’s freedom.
The elastic clause, and what were the two groups argument
1-strict directions-congress should strictly interpret the elastic clause
2-loose construction-Congress should broadly interpret the clause
What were the three branches of government who had them and what is their job?
1-legislative branch Congress is the head and their job is making laws
2-executive branch president is the head and their job is to carry out the laws and run the affairs of the national government
3-judicial branch the head is the Supreme Court Their job is to decide whether their laws or the constitution were violated

Strengths of the article of Confederation
1-left states free to to make decisions for themselves
2-prevented the federal government from gaining too much power
Weaknesses of articles of confederation
1-Congress had very limited power
2-there was no executive branch
