SMART goals
A goal-setting strategy used to create realistic and effective goals. SMART stands for: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound.
Specific
A goal that clearly identifies the specific action or result to be achieved.
Measurable
A goal that can be measured or quantified so progress and success can be evaluated.
Attainable
A goal that is realistically attainable given the available resources and circumstances.
Relevant
A goal that is relevant to a person’s interests, needs, or larger objectives.
Time-bound
A goal that is time-bound and includes a clear deadline or timeframe to encourage progress and accountability.
Cornell Method
A note-taking system in which key notes are recorded first, then organized using cue (recall) words and a summary linking the cues to their context to improve efficiency and studying.
A good note
A brief and organized form of writing that identifies key: topics, major and supporting ideas, concepts, examples, and specific terms or words.
Cue words
Key words or phrases that trigger recall of important details, ideas, or themes from notes or a text.
A good summary
A concise explanation of a text or topic that includes only the main ideas and essential details.
