Input
The process of entering data and instructions into a computer.
Output
The information produced by a computer after processing data.
Manual Input Device
A device that allows a user to enter data directly into a computer, such as a keyboard.
Digital Input Device
Devices that capture or enter data in a digital format, such as mice and scanners.
Command
An instruction issued by a user to a program or app to perform a specific action.
User Response
An instruction issued by a user in response to a message displayed by an app or program.
Text Output
Output that consists of written information such as emails or reports.
Graphic Output
Output that includes images, charts, and visual presentations.
Audio Output
Output that comprises sound, such as music or spoken words.
Video Output
Output that displays moving images, such as movies or video clips.
Touchscreen Gesture
A motion made on a touchscreen to interact with the device, such as tapping or swiping.
Optical Scanner
A device that reads printed text and graphics and translates them into a digital format.
Voice Input
The process of entering data by speaking into a microphone.
MICR (Magnetic Ink Character Recognition)
A technology used to read text printed with magnetized ink, commonly used in banking for checks.
RFID (Radio Frequency Identification)
A technology that uses radio waves to read data from a tag attached to an object.
E-waste
Electronic waste that poses environmental risks if not disposed of properly.
Assistive Technology
Devices or software designed to help individuals with disabilities interact with computers and digital content.
Refreshable Braille Display
A device that translates digital text into Braille for visually impaired users.
Non-impact Printer
A printer that forms characters and graphics without contacting the paper, like inkjet and laser printers.
Hard Copy
Printed information that exists physically, as opposed to soft copy which exists only electronically.
