Hannibal

First Punic War
A conflict between Rome and Carthage from 264-241 BC, resulting in Roman control of Sicily.
Second Punic War
A major conflict from 218-201 BC where Hannibal led Carthaginian forces against Rome, notable for his crossing of the Alps.
Scipio
The Roman general who defeated Hannibal at the Battle of Zama in 202 BC, ending the Second Punic War.
Lake Trasimene
Site of a significant battle in 217 BC where Hannibal achieved a major victory against the Romans.
