\- shows modern perspective on Philippine art and society because it flows through issue based theater as well as helps people to become aware in our social and political issues

Tanghalang Pilipino (TP)

\- organized in 1987 and is under the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP)

\- known as the resident drama of CCP

\- known for its production of our very own Original Filipino Plays

\- train Filipino actors, designers, and etc. to play from other countries that adopted to Filipino setting

Walang Sugat and Ibalong Muzikal

\- examples of plays by Tanghalang Pilipino

Repertory Philippines (RP)

\- incorporation that started in 1967 because of Zenaida Amador and Baby Barredo, wanting to give the Filipinos a chance to watch world class plays

\- this group production is in more than 45 years of existence because of the quality of their plays and capacity as director, actress, designers, and musical directors

\- shape and develop the talents of Filipinos and acting and gave them recognition

New Voice Company (NVC)

\- an objective of this group is to help in exposing the Awareness of Political and social concerns in the Philippines

\- became famous in 2001 because of their play entitled The Vagina Monologues, and also produced a play entitled “The Male Voice”

\- known as one of Asia’s leading theater companies because of their diverse shows

Trumpets

\- one of the premier theater companies established in 1994

\- Asia’s first professional gospel theater group known for wholesome family entertainment musical plays

\- create new musicals for Filipino talents whose passion is to make their dreams of performing in a large audience

Local Performing Groups

\- small groups of amateurs who produce plays largely for the benefit of small audiences

\- key figure in theater production

\- their aim is to reproduce the playwright’s intentions as faithfully as they can, and they must discover the values and meanings of the play
