MX Record
A record used for outgoing (SMTP) and incoming (POP3/IMAP) traffic.

Associates a domain name with an IPv4 address.
AAAA Record
Associates a domain name with an IPv6 address.
CNAME Record
Canonical name or alias name that associates one domain name as an alias of another.
Software as a Service (SaaS)
A cloud computing service that enables applications to be made available over the Internet to end-users.
Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
A cloud computing service that allows consumers to outsource computing equipment purchases.
Platform as a Service (PaaS)
A cloud computing service that enables consumers to rent fully configured systems.
Desktop as a Service (DaaS)
Provides a full virtualized desktop environment from a cloud-based service.
Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)
A technology that allows desktop environments to be run on a remote server.
Static IP Address
An IP address that is manually configured and does not change.
Dynamic IP Address
An IP address that is assigned automatically by a DHCP server.
Subnet Mask
Used in IPv4 to distinguish the Network ID and Host ID in an IP address.
Crosstalk
Unintentional transmission of signals between communication channels.
Error Checking and Correcting (ECC)
A type of system memory that has built-in error correction security.
Wireless Standards
Protocols (like 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax) that define wireless networking capabilities.
Latency
The time it takes for data to reach its destination across a network.
Throughput
The actual measure of data successfully transferred from source to destination.
Bandwidth
The maximum rate of data transfer across a network under ideal conditions.
DHCP Server
Automatically assigns IP addresses and other network parameters to devices.

An Automatic Private IP Address starting with 169.254.x.x.
