  • There is greater risk of cardiovascular problems e.g stroke or heart attack

  • A person may have a weaker immune system and a greater chance of getting ill

  • Not getting all of the right nutrients could lead to deficiency diseases e.g low iron leads to anaemia and a lack of vitamin c can cause scurvy
