What is cellular respiration?
Multi Step metabolic pathway in which organic molecules (e.g., glucose) are disassembled in a controlled manner by a series of enzymes to eventually form ATP.
What are the four stages?
glycolysis, Intermediate Stage, Krebs(C.A.C), ETC
What do we start with(whole process)?
Glucose
What do we end with(whole process)?
ATP
Is glycolysis aerobic or anaerobic?
Anaerobic
Where does this occur?
Within the Cytosol
How many net ATP are created?
2 ATP
What is created at the end of glycolysis?
2 ATP and pyruvate
Which stage creates the most ATP?
ETC
What is the other name for ETC?
Oxidative Phosphorylation
Where does Intermediate stage, Krebs, and ETC all take place?
Mitochondria
What is the name of the enzyme that creates ATP in the ETC?
ATP synthase
Does aerobic or anaerobic respiration create the most ATP?
Aerobic! (By a LOT)
