  • w spread of citizenship education, yg ppl now better informed abt politics than ever

  • voting turnout among 18-24 is very low, may encourage more ppl to vote n be engaged w politics

  • internet n social now enable yg better informed

  • if one old enough to serve in army or pay tax should vote

  • radicalism of yg ppl could act useful balance to conservatism of older voters.

  • too young to be able to make informed decisions and are now required to be in some form of education until 18

  • many issues apparently too complex for yg ppl to understand

  • not all ppl in this age group pay tax so seen to have lower stake in society

  • yg can be excessively radical as have not had enough life experience to consider issues carefully
