Species
A group of individuals with similar characteristics that breed with each other to produce offspring that can also go on to breed when they’re mature
Population
All organisms of one species in an area

Number of organisms of one species in an area
Community
All the different species that interact with each other in a place
Biodiversity
The number of different species, and their number of individuals of each species
Habitat
A place where an organism lives
Percentage cover
The proportion of the area that is covered by a species, this proportions is presented as a percentage
Random sampling
Random sampling is a method used in science to select a sample from a larger population so that every individual has an equal chance of being chosen.
Representative
When a sample set of data or example accurately reflects what is found in the larger population
Biotic factor
The living part (whether alive or dead) part of the ecosystem. Anything that is to do with eating or starts with competition for or pathogens, is biotic
Abiotic factor
The non-living parts of the ecosystem, examples include temperature, pH and light intenstity
Reliable
When repeated numbers are very similar to each other, they are reliable and allow us to calculate a reliable mean.
