Constant Speed
Represented on a distance-time graph by a straight line
Fast Speed
Identified on a distance vs. time graph as the line with a steep slope
Stopped Moving
A state where an object’s distance does not change as time increases, represented by a horizontal line on a distance-time graph.
At Rest
Another term for an object that has stopped moving, where there is no change in distance over a specific time interval.
Returning Home
A movement represented on a graph by a segment where the object travels back toward its starting position, such as Segment C to D.
Speed Calculation
Determining the rate of motion using the distance traveled and the amount of time it took to go that distance.
Average Speed
The total distance traveled divided by the total time; for example, Car B traveled at an average speed of 60km/h.
Complete Stop
A specific period in a trip, such as Segment B to C in the Car Trip graph, where the car’s motion ceases entirely.
No Speed
Represented on a graph by a line showing zero change in distance over time.
Change in Velocity
A change in the speed or direction of an object's motion represented on a speed graph.
Slowing Down
A decrease in the speed of an object over time, such as a toy car's motion between 2 and 4 seconds.
