→ permitted formation of small social groups or orgs that weren’t explicitly political. Previously, only Falange group permitted

1966 Press Act

→ Stories no longer censored before being published. Individual newspapers greater independence from state appointing their editorial boards. Journalists greater freedom, still had to adhere to principles

1967 Organic Law

→ Created new office ‘Chief of Gov’ that was independent from head of state (Franco had BOTH positions until he died 🤣) Helped develop separation of powers + increased parliament by 20%, more ESP citizens involved in parliament

1967 Law of family representation

→ Permitted heads of families to vote, applied to both married women + men so technically expanded women’s voting rights

National movement still only party

1967 Religious Freedom act

→ Accepted other religious practices within country, weakening influence of Church
