[Student Initiates] You and I are invited to a (cultural) event. Tell me about it and how you are preparing for it. You start the conversation. You have two minutes in which to tell me about your plans and ask me about mine.

[Teacher Initiates] My family member is having a birthday party this week and you are invited. We should talk about gifts, food, music and other details.

[Student Initiates] You are a new student in our school. I am your new classmate and you want to know all about the school, classes and teachers.

[Teacher Initiates] We are friends. Let's talk about all the fun activities we are going to do this summer, sports we are going to play or new hobbies we would like to try.
