Margaret Mead
Proved gender roles are not universal; they're formed by cultural history and upbringing. Known for the nurture vs. nature debate, studying Samoan teen girls, and conducting work with Indigenous people in the Pacific.
Karl Marx
Founder of the conflict school of sociology. Believed only a few have power in a capitalist society, leaving most with no control over their destiny; society's problems won't be solved until power is redistributed among the people.
