Endocrine System
A collection of glands that produce hormones to regulate various body functions such as metabolism, growth, and mood.
Pancreas
An endocrine gland that produces insulin and glucagon to regulate blood sugar levels.
Thyroid
A butterfly-shaped gland that produces hormones regulating metabolism, body temperature, and heart rate.
Ovaries
Female reproductive organs that produce eggs and hormones such as estrogen and progesterone.
Thymus
A gland involved in the immune system that produces T-lymphocytes (T-cells) for immune responses.
Pineal
A small gland in the brain that produces melatonin, which regulates sleep-wake cycles.
Testes
Male reproductive organs that produce sperm and hormones such as testosterone.
Hypothalamus
A region of the brain that controls the pituitary gland and regulates bodily functions like temperature and hunger.
Adrenal
Glands located above the kidneys that produce hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline.
Pituitary
The 'master gland' of the endocrine system that regulates other endocrine glands and produces various hormones.
Anterior lobe of the pituitary gland
The front part of the pituitary gland that releases hormones like growth hormone and TSH.
Posterior lobe of the pituitary gland
The back part of the pituitary gland that stores and releases hormones such as oxytocin and vasopressin.
Parathyroid
Glands located near the thyroid that produce parathyroid hormone to regulate calcium levels in the blood.
