  • Built across the Cher river

  • Cher river was the boundary between northern, occupied France and southern, unoccupied zone in WWII.  This castle helped smuggle people out of the occupied zone!

  • Wonderful son et lumière show in summer evenings!

  • This castle was the model  for the castle in La Belle au bois dormant – Sleeping Beauty.

  • Several rooms display various scenes from the story.

  • Beautiful terraces facing the Indre river – build in the beginning of the Renaissance.

  • Huge spiral ramp that horses could come up to meet the king!
