Physical abuse

Verbal abuse
The use of words to mistreat or injure another person.
Sexual abuse
A pattern of sexual contact that is forced upon a person against the person’s will.
Incest
Sexual contact between family members.
Stalking
Repeatedly following, harassing, or threatening an individual.
Stalker
A person that follows and calls another person repeatedly.
Date rape
One person in a dating relationship forces the other person to take part in sexual intercourse.
Acquaintance rape
Rape by someone the victim knows casually or considers a friend.
Alcohol and Judgment
Alcohol use may impair judgment and affect the ability to consent.
Date rape drugs
Drugs that are difficult to detect because they can be mixed with food or drinks.
Tips for Avoiding Date Rape
Avoid being alone with a dating partner you do not know well or trust.
Setting Limits
State your limits about sexual activity clearly with dating partners.
