Shape

Organic Shapes

Freeform, irregular shapes found in nature.

Space

The area around, between, and within objects.

Positive Space

The subject or object itself.

Negative Space

The empty space around the subject

Value

The lightness or darkness of a color or mark.

Contrast

Color

Light reflected from an object; includes hue, value, and intensity.

Hue

The name of a color

Intensity/Saturation

The brightness or dullness of a color

Texture

How a surface feels or appears to feel.

Visual Texture

Texture that is seen but not physically felt.

Physical Texture

Texture that can actually be touched

Form

A three-dimensional object or the illusion of one

Dynamic Form

A form that appears energetic or moving
