What does the arm signal for a left turn look like?
Left arm extended straight out the driver's window.
What does the arm signal for a right turn look like?
Left arm bent upward at a 90° angle with the hand pointing up.
What does the arm signal for slowing down or stopping look like?
Left arm bent downward at a 90° angle with the hand pointing down.
When are arm signals used?
When turn signals are not working or are not visible to other drivers.
Where are the hazard (emergency) lights located?
The hazard light button (red triangle) is located on the center dashboard/center stack near the infotainment screen.
What do hazard lights indicate?
They make all four turn signals flash to warn other drivers of an emergency or stopped vehicle.
Where is the front windshield defroster control located?
On the climate-control panel below the infotainment screen. Look for the windshield icon with upward arrows.
Where is the rear window defroster control located?
On the climate-control panel. Look for the rectangular rear-window icon with wavy lines.
Where is the parking brake (emergency brake) located?
It is an electronic parking brake switch located on the center console near the gear selector.
How do you engage the parking brake?
Pull up on the electronic parking brake switch.
How do you release the parking brake?
Press the brake pedal and push the parking brake switch down.
Where are the windshield wiper controls located?
On the right-hand steering-column stalk.
How do you activate the windshield washers?
Push or pull the wiper stalk (depending on the function) to spray washer fluid and activate the wipers.
Where are the headlight controls located?
On the left-side dashboard control panel near the steering wheel.
What headlight setting is commonly used during normal driving?
AUTO (automatic headlights).
Where is the turn signal control located?
On the left steering-column stalk.
How do you signal a left turn?
Push the left stalk downward.
How do you signal a right turn?
Push the left stalk upward.
What should you do before turning or changing lanes?
Signal, check mirrors, check blind spots, then proceed when safe.
How far before a turn should you signal?
Generally at least 100 feet before turning (check your state's specific rule).
