God is light and in him there is no darkness at all. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive. Genuine fellowship with God requires walking in the light and honest confession of sin.
1 John 1:5-10
Key for the Council of Jerusalem. Gathering on whether believers must be circumcised and keep the law of Moses to be saved. Ultimately, salvation is by grace along through faith alone. Not through the works-based requirements of the Jerusalem Council
Acts 15
The Holy Spirit’s ministry includes convicting the world of Sin, righteousness and judgement. He is the agent of conviction in the heart of the unbeliever.
John 16:8-11
Justification by faith alone in Christ alone. God’s righteousness is imputed to sinners through Christ’s propitiatory sacrifice, not by works of the law
Romans 3:21-25
We cannot continue in sin so that grace may abound. Union with Christ in his death and resurrection breaks bondage to sin. It does not license continued sinning.
Romans 6:1-4
John says that Christ is the propitiation for the sins of the whole world. His sacrifice is sufficient for all sins.
1 John 2:2
Withdraw from every brother who walks in a disorderly or idle manner not like the tradition that was from the apostles. Ecclesiastical separation from professing believers who live in persistent disobedience.
2 Thessalonians 3:6
Watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine they have been taught.
Roman’s 16:17
Jesus prays for his disciples, that they would be kept from the evil one but not take out of the world.
John 17:1-20
Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. What fellowship does light have with darkness. We should be separate
2 Corinthians 6:14-18
Do not love the things of this world or the world itself. If anyone loves this world the love of the Father is not in him.
1 John 2:15-17
Anyone who does not abide in the teaching of Christ does not have God. If anyone brings a teaching contrary to the ones we have heard, we should not give him a greeting or a place to stay.
2 John 9-11
