W1
I have a clear opening statement that uses a critical verb to consider WHAT the writer is trying to do/say (I do not start with a technique or a device).
H1
I provide at least 2 quotations to support my argument.
H2
I identify and zoom in on the writer's choices (devices/techniques) in these quotes that produce a certain effect.
H3
I explore the effect of these choices. How does it make us feel? What does it indicate to us? What does it suggest? What can I infer?
H4
I explain HOW the effects are produced. I DO not explain what the quotes mean.
W2
I link all my ideas back to the original question and my own point.
W3
I consider WHY the author has made these decisions (this could include context). But it is NOT to make the reader want to read on!
S1
I use paragraphs and discourse markers.
