Are more reactants or products formed when equilibrium shifts to the left?
Reactants
What is Le Chatelier’s principle?
If the concentration, pressure or temperature changes the the equilibrium will shift to counteract the change
What will happen if you increase the reactant concentration in a reversible reaction?
Equilibrium will shift to the right as more product will be made to try use up the increase concentration of reactants
What happens when you increase the pressure in a reversible reaction?
Equilibrium will shift towards the side with the least moles of gas so that the pressure will be decreased
What happens when you increase the temperature in a reversible reaction?
The equilibrium shifts in the endothermic direction so that the excess heat is absorbed
