Style
A collection of all formatting information, which you want to save and then apply on the document.
Page styles
Styles that define basic page layout like page size, its margin, placement of header and footer, footnote, borders and background.
Paragraph styles
Formatting applied to text beginning and ending with the Enter key, which includes tab stops, text alignment, line spacing and borders.
Character styles
Styles used to change the appearance of a part of a paragraph, such as text colour, text size, highlighting and emphasis, without affecting the rest of the paragraph.
Frame styles
Styles applied to containers that hold text, graphics and lists, allowing for formatting of size, position, border and text wrapping around pictures.
List Styles
A separate category used to style lists by putting numbering or bullets of a different kind or specifying numeric format.
Table Styles
A category that allows formatting a table by adding borders, using different text or border colour(s), aligning text inside the table, and using different patterns.

The shortcut key used to open the Styles window and show the types of styles available in Libreoffice.
Sidebar Menu
A menu where clicking on the Styles icon displays the Style sub-menu.
Fill Format mode
An icon-based method used to apply a style to many different scattered paragraphs, cells, or other items quickly without double-clicking every time.
New Style from Selection
A custom style creation method involving selecting an item in the document, clicking the Styles actions icon, and typing a name for the style.
Dragging And Dropping
A method to create a new style by selecting text and dragging it to the Styles window.
Update Selected Style
A command used to modify a style by selecting an item that has the format you want to adopt and applying it to an existing style.
Load Styles
An option found under the New Style from Selection icon used to copy categories of styles from a template or document into the current one.
