Limit of Detection (LoD)
The lowest concentration of analyte that can be reliably detected above the noise level.
Limit of Quantitation (LoQ)
The lowest level of analyte that can be accurately and precisely measured.
Precision
The degree to which repeated measurements under unchanged conditions show the same results.
Accuracy
The closeness of a measured value to the actual (true) value.
Method Selectivity
The ability of a method to distinguish analyte from other components in the sample.
Analyte Recovery
The process of assessing how much of the analyte can be recovered from a sample after analysis.
Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
A detailed, written instruction to achieve uniformity in performing a specific function.
Ruggedness Testing
An assessment of how small changes in analytical method parameters affect results.
Signal-to-Noise Ratio
A measure used to quantify how much a signal (analyte) has been corrupted by noise.
Correlation Coefficient (r2)
A statistical measure that indicates the extent to which changes in one variable predict changes in another variable.
