Abduction
Movement away from the midline of the body.
Adduction
Movement towards the midline of the body.

Diaphragm
Prime mover of inspiration; expands thoracic cavity during inhalation.
Pectoralis Minor
Deeper than pectoralis major; draws scapula forward/downward and elevates rib cage.

Large fan-shaped muscle
Covers upper portion part of chest
Adducts arm flexes humerus

Rectus Abdominis
Compresses abdomen; aids in flexion and rotation of the lumbar region.

External Obliques
Superficial muscles that compress the abdomen and flex the vertebral body.

Internal Obliques
Deeper muscles that compress the abdomen and flex the vertebral body.

Transversus Abdominis
Assists in compressing the abdomen.

Rhomboids Major and Minor
Muscles that function to adduct the scapula.

External Intercostals
Muscles that aid in inspiration by lifting ribs and expanding the thoracic cavity.

Internal Intercostals
Muscles that aid in expiration by depressing the rib cage.

Serratus Anterior
Muscle that protracts the shoulder and rotates it upwards; known as the 'boxer's muscle'.

Infraspinatus
Muscle that facilitates lateral rotation of the humerus.

Subscapularis
Muscle responsible for medial rotation of the humerus.

Supraspinatus
Muscle that facilitates abduction of the shoulder.

Teres Major
Muscle that aids in medial rotation and extension of the humerus.

Trapezius
Muscle that assists with neck extension and scapula adduction.

Linea Alba
Connective tissue at midline of the abdomen; supports abdominal muscles.

Flexor Carpi Radialis
Muscle that flexes the wrist and aids in abduction of the hand.
Palmaris Longus
Muscle that flexes the wrist.
Extensor Carpi Ulnaris
Muscle that helps in wrist extension and aids in adduction of the hand.
Extensor Digitorum
Muscle responsible for the extension of fingers.
