Barcode Area
The section in the examination booklet used for identification and tracking purposes.
Volume of a prism
$V = Ah$, where $A$ is the area of a cross-section and $h$ is the perpendicular length.
Volume of a cylinder
$V = ext{π}r^2h$, where $r$ is the radius of the base and $h$ is the perpendicular height.
Circumference of a circle
$C = 2 ext{π}r$, where $r$ is the radius of the circle.
Area of a circle
$A = ext{π}r^2$, where $r$ is the radius of the circle.
Roots of quadratic equations
If $ax^2 + bx + c = 0$, then $x = \frac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^2 - 4ac}}{2a}$.
Sine rule
For triangle ABC, $\frac{a}{\sin A} = \frac{b}{\sin B} = \frac{c}{\sin C}$.
Cosine rule
$a^2 = b^2 + c^2 - 2bc \cos A$ for any triangle.
Depreciation
The reduction in the value of an asset over time, in this case, 8% per year for a car.
Binary number
A number expressed in the base-2 numeral system, using only 0s and 1s.
Standard form
A way of writing numbers that are too big or too small in a compact format, using powers of ten.
Inequality
A mathematical expression that shows the relationship between two values that are not equal.
Gradient
The slope of a line, indicating the steepness of the line on a graph.
