Centrioles
Help w cell division and organizing the organelles
Mitochondria
Aka “powerhouse of cell” it’s where energy is made
Cytoskeleton
Made of micro filaments (mini roads) and micro tubes (cell division and intercellular transportation)
Organelles
Makes up everything inside the cell
Cell membrane
Made of cholesterol protein and phospholipids. Semi permeable
Nucleus
Stores all genetic info. Nucleolus creates ribosomal RNA which helps w protein synthesis
Cytoplasm
gel like and helps organelles stay in place. Has filaments which are like roads
Endoplasmic reticulum
Rough makes protein and smooth make lipids
Golgi Apparatus
AKA “post office” takes glucose, ATP… and puts them into vesicles to get “shipped” out of the cell
Muscle tissue
Makes up everything that moves. Contractile. 2 main kinds smooth muscle (involuntary and lines uterus, GI…) skeletal muscle (voluntary and lines Skelton)
Connective tissue
Made of collagen, elastin and reticular fibers. Makes up adipose tissue, bones, cartilage and blood. This tissue gives structure.
Epithelial tissue
Creates boundaries and lines internal organs. Makes up skin. The inner layer is called apical and outer basal. Lil dots on the tissue is called protein sheets/ basement membrane and they block things from coming in n out of the tissue
Nervous tissue
Makes up neurons which makes up nerve cells. Sends chem signals and turns it into electrical impulse. Nerve cells have axons and dentrites which transports messages. Glial cells supports nervous system and provides nutrition… myelin sheath is arnd nerves to protect them
