What did he propose?
All behaviours is a result of operate conditioning
what is operate conditioning?
idea that a positive/ negative response given by a caregiver can influence the way in which a child talks on future occasions
what is positive reinforcement ?
if a child is using a grammatically accurate sentences , a caregiver may praise the child
what is negative reinforcement ?
if a child says a less favourable response they will not be praised (or might be corrected)
what are the reasons against it?
children don’t reposed to correction and it can harm their language development
children don’t suddenly start producing gramatically correct sentences that they would be using if imitating caregivers instead they build it up gradually
