Masculinity vs. Femininity
A dimension that examines the distribution of roles and values in a workplace.
Masculine workplace cultures
Cultures that value competitiveness, assertiveness, and material success.
Feminine workplace cultures
Cultures that place more importance on relationships, quality of life, and caring for others.
Uncertainty Avoidance (UAI)
A measure of an organization’s tolerance for uncertainty and ambiguity.
High-UAI workplaces
Workplaces with strict rules and regulations to minimize uncertainty, showing a low tolerance for unconventional behaviors.
Low-UAI workplaces
Workplaces that are more relaxed and open to change and innovation.
Long-Term Orientation
Workplaces that focus on future rewards, valuing perseverance and thrift.
Short-Term Orientation
Workplaces concerned with maintaining traditions and achieving quick results.
Indulgence
A workplace environment that allows relatively free gratification of employees’ desires related to enjoying life and having fun.
Restraint
A workplace culture that suppresses gratification of needs and regulates behavior through strict social norms.
The Change Curve
A model based on Elisabeth Kübler-Ross’s Grief Cycle used to understand the stages of personal transition in response to significant change.
Shock and Denial
An initial reaction to significant change characterized by disbelief and avoidance as a defense mechanism.
Anger
A stage where individuals express frustration and resentment about change, often questioning its fairness.
Bargaining
A phase where individuals attempt to negotiate or make deals to avoid change or mitigate its effects.
Depression
A period of deep sadness and despair as the reality of a situation sets in, leading to withdrawal.
Acceptance
The stage where individuals come to terms with change, acknowledging its reality and starting to adjust.
Integration
The final phase where individuals incorporate change into their lives to move forward and grow.
Kotter’s 8-Step Change Model
A model by John Kotter involving steps such as creating urgency, forming a coalition, creating a vision, and anchoring changes in culture.
ADKAR Model
Developed by Prosci, the building blocks are Awareness, Desire, Knowledge, Ability, and Reinforcement.
Revenue
The total amount of money generated by the company from its business activities.
Profit Margin
The percentage of revenue that remains as profit after all expenses are deducted.
Customer Satisfaction
A measure of how happy customers are with products or services, often gathered through surveys.
Market Share
The percentage of an industry’s sales that a particular company controls.
Cash Flow
The amount of cash coming in and going out of the business.
Return on Investment (ROI)
Measures the financial return on investments made by the company, such as training or technology.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Measurable values that demonstrate how effectively an organization is achieving its key business objectives.
Employee Turnover Rate
Measures how many employees leave the company over a certain period.
Employee Engagement
Measures how motivated and satisfied employees are with their work and the company.
Time to Hire
Measures how long it takes to fill an open position from the time the job is posted.
Employee Productivity
Measures how much work employees accomplish in a certain amount of time.
Full-Time Employee Ratio (FTE)
A measure calculating the proportion of full-time employees relative to the total workforce.
Absenteeism Rate
The percentage of workdays missed due to employee absence.

Safety Data Sheet (SDS)
Identifies substance ingredients, atmospheric reactions, flammability, stability, incompatible materials, decomposition hazards, body absorption, and required protective equipment.
