It's liminal bcs it shows how he's not jailed but doesn't rlly have freedom, his world is also the hotel, but things are happening outside that affect him.

He made this when he got into an accident, and his friend was playing harp music while it was raining, and realized that it's ambience, it doesn't need to receive attention, it's just there. So it is used as an atmosphere for emotional transition and waiting.
